Forgiveness and Atonement

Atonement is the process of making right the wrongs that we have done to others as a way to ensure that forgiveness is finalized.  In the 12 Step programs, the process of making amends is considered to be as important as taking a personal inventory and these two together are absolutely essential for the recovery process to work.  Atonement, often described as “At-One-Ment”, is a full-circle process that allows a person to be free of their past and to remove the obstacles in their lives that block them from their highest good.  However, atonement can be a difficult process.  Check out this PBS video on this topic, and please share your experiences with this powerful tool.
